We provide the following local offer for children who may require additional support:

A dedicated SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), BECO (Behaviour Co-ordinator) and Emotional Support Support Assistant (ELSA)
A 'Language Box' checklist for each child starting pre-school, completed by their key person, and reviewed termly

A separate quiet room with access to sensory toys and equipment
Regular assessment to assess children's needs. Parents are invited to Focus Child meetings to add their views and ideas, to inform their children’s future focus
IEPs are completed by the setting and parents, and are reviewed regularly
Visual clues (such as NOW/NEXT, choosing boards, and a visual timetable) and Makaton are used to support children’s communication. We have a Makaton “sign of the week”
Activities that are accessible to all children, and can be differentiated to accommodate all the children’s needs and requirements
Regular engagement with outside agencies, to provide the setting and parents with support
